As a student, I think we can raise public awareness by sharing the story of what is happening to African children who have HIV/AIDS. The students who have some extra cash can make a monetary donation to the respectable charity organizations such as UNICEF and WHO. Some students who have time-off from school can visit Africa to participate humanitarian volunteer projects. There are many ways to show our support to those children in need.
